Just go the prompt to update my version of Avast so I did. It rebooted when it was done and now Avast isn’t running at all. Windows is angry because I no longer have an AV program.
This is on Win7 Home Premium 64-bit.
I rebooted a second time and nothing.
It still shows up as installed in Control Panel but when I click the icon nothing happens.
Not sure if I should try to uninstall it and then reinstall it or what. Or if I should try to reinstall an older version maybe?
Any suggestions?
Try a clean install initially
Download Uninstall Utility to your Desktop.
Download the correct version of Avast
Avast Free
Avast Pro
Avast Internet Security
Avast Premier
Disconnect from the net
Uninstall Avast via control panel
[]Run aswClear
[]It will offer to reboot to safe mode

[*]Press Uninstall
[*]Once complete reboot your system to Normal Mode
[*]Reinstall Avast
Heh, just booted up the laptop today to do the uninstall and it popped up a Click to complete the install. sigh
