For the past week, I keep getting notices (green pop up window) from Avast! that there is an updated version available. It says “Click here” to install the updated version. But nothing ever seems to happen. And then, the next day, I get the same message. Again, I click on it, but no update seems to take place. This happens almost every day.
Any ideas what the heck is going on?
Why won’t it update itself -and- is a new update really available?
Which is your operational system?
If you manually try to upgrade avast (program update), will it work?
Do you use any firewall? Is avast.setup allowed to connect the Internet and get the update?
I assume that your Update (Basic) settings is set to ‘Ask’ as mine is being on dial-up I prefer to be notified and decide.
Well it should start the update straight away when you click the click here, so Tech’s question about your firewall is likely to be the cause of the problem.
