twice now when I have applied the latest updates to my avast browser it has deleted all my saved passwords. This is extremely problematic to recreate. I am at the point of going to a more reliable browser.
First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member and I don’t use ASB.
What if you export your passwords before updating.
I periodically export my settings in my default browser Firefox, they call it synchronise even if I have another PC, etc I can use the sync function and that installation effectively gets set up according to my last synchronisation.
Hello @rghamlin,
I’m sorry for the trouble you’re facing and for coming back to you late.
Could you provide me with more details about your issue? Do I understand it correctly that you were prompted in Avast Secure Browser to download a new version, confirmed the update, and then found your passwords missing after restarting the browser?
Was there any other major update, for example, of the operating system? Have you enabled Sync in the browser?
Please, also post here the Diagnostic information from your browser:
- Open Avast Secure Browser
- Paste secure://settings/diagnosticInfo into address bar and press enter
- Click Copy to clipboard at the bottom-right corner
- Paste the diag info here
All information will help us to check the issue further.
Thank you!
A japanese user reported similar issue. Do you still need diagnostic info?
