updates question

Hi,

I’ve a notebook, and need to login to access to wireless connection, but I can only login after a 1 or 2 minutes after the windows startup…

I want to know if is possible to call the avast! updater with a single click to check the updates before I login on the wireless, and this only say to me if it made the update or if the updater failed?

Thanks

If you not login to the wireless network and there is no other connection, how could Avast check for a update then?

At Home: I have a LAN and when I start the Windows, I have always connected, so the avast! will update as soon as possible after start…

At University: After I start the Windows, I don’t have any connection, so I have to login to the wireless. Between the Windows start and the login, the avast! will try to update, but as I don’t have any connection, the avast! only try to update again 2h later…

You can always start a update check manually after you have loged in. Right click the blue ball, choose “update”

I know ;D

But I find a more easier way to that, without the update window…

I wrote a script to do this ;D
Do you have a file called ashUpd.exe into avast folder?
If yes, you could open a cmd window and type ashupd.exe /? to see command line options for it.
To delay the update, you can change avast4.ini file. See ‘Seetings’ on my signature to increase the delay, after boot, to start avast update

Thanks Technical
