I’m running Avast 4.8.1185 and didn’t have problems until today(late Monday night) it suddenly it won’t update message says unable to connect to server. I have Comodo 2.4 for firewall and tried disabling it but it still wouldn’t connect. I saved the log file if it will help.

Whilst the download server might well be working now, you should do a manual program update as the latest beta build is 4.8.1187.
If, after all, you can’t manually update, please, post the last 200-250 lines of avast log: C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\log\Setup.log
I just tried manual update 9:50 am eastern time and that does work now it didn’t when I posted. I’ll run the program update when I get a chance. I had to take my Dad to hospital yesterday so I’m pressed for tiime.
