When I try to update my version 5 I get a message that says can’t connect to server. My internet connection is fine.
- Check your firewall settings. Can you manually update?
- Set your proxy settings (into avast) to “No proxy” (and not “Automatic detect”).
No I can’t update manually. The fire wall settings are fine, have never been changed. Not very technical so not sure what the proxy settings are or how to find them.
How do you connect to the Internet – are you on broadband/cable or proxy server, cellular, T1, etc.? The more information you can give us, the better we can help you. Thank you.
Seem incompatible things: if you can’t update manually, the firewall is blocking.
Do you use a proxy?
Settings > Update
Changing the proxy settings as you suggested has cured the problem. I tried the update and it ran fine.
