Upgraded to XPPRO from W98 OE doesn't work

I upgraded my OS from W98SE to XPPro today.
I imported all my Outlook express setting from 98 to XP using Inachos E-Backup.
Anyway, I guess it imported the settings based on the Mail protection settings from W98 (I was running Avast) & now I cannot get anything but my GMail account to download while running Avast.

Also, the mail protection wizard isn’t in start-control panel-programs-avast.
I was going to run that prior to posting here but since it disappeared I’m now posting.

Hi, welcome to the forums.

If you have changed OS then you need to uninstall avast, reboot, install avast again and reboot (there are major differences between win98 and XP).

Also, the mail protection wizard isn't in start-control panel-programs-avast.
It won't be XP doesn't require it, this is one of the differences between win98 and XP. This is in the avast help file, I suggest you spend a little time browsing it to get the best out of avast.

I’ve got it figured out now.
I uninstalled & then reinstalled my mail account using the OE import feature & I’m good to go.
