Upgrading to Avast 6 was a big mistake

Can someone please provide the last updated installer of Avast 5?
I have bad experiences, with Avast 5 and it get worst with Avast 6.

With Avast 5, when I’m exploring to folders which have executable file in it, my computer seem to hang up for a few seconds.
If the folder have large executable file, like a online game file with 2gig setup file, my computer freezes for about a 2-3 minutes, before I can continue working. As far as I understand, Avast 5 is scanning these files.

It gets worst when I upgraded to Avast 6. Even on the desktop, I experience freezing. With my HDLED always going red, CPU usage always above 70%, and also, I always have this very annoying pop up about Sandboxing. I already disabled Sandboxing, under Additional Protection, AutoSandbox, Settings, I unchecked Enable Auto Sandbox, yet, I still receive popups about Sandboxing.

As of now, I removed Avast 6 Free, from my PC and using an alternative AV.

It’s not a good idea to downgrade… Anyway, I suggest an installation from the scratch:

  1. Uninstall avast from Control Panel first.
  2. Boot.
  3. Use Avast Uninstall for complete uninstallation.
  4. Boot.
  5. Stay off-line (not connected to Internet)
  6. Install again the old version: http://filehippo.com/download_avast_antivirus/
  7. Boot.
  8. Register avast (insert the registration key).
  9. Uncheck the programs updates (set to manual).
  10. Only then connect to Internet (go on-line).
  11. Check and post the results.

Seems that other product is conflicting with your avast. I did not experienced your troubles with version 5 or 6.
