Urgent - Avast removing Microsoft Word file

Hi,

Avast is now reporting Mcrosoft Word as a trojan and it’s removing a file.

Just happened to me and a friend

It needs a new upadte ASAP.

Windows now searches for the file WKSWP.exe when you try and open a Word file.

Hmmm… Your computer seems infected.
avast does not detect any problem in my Office 2003 and Office 2007…
Run a full scan.

Here’s a screen shot of the red box.

My PC is not infected because it happened at the same time on a friends PC. It’s wrongly accussing the file :slight_smile:

Hi,

It is. But I can’t use the program until an update allows me too.

I sent an email and they got back to me in a few minutes asking for a screen shot. Did that, and haven’t heard anything now for an hour.

Upload the WKSWP.exe to virustotal and post back the report I’m pretty sure it false positive

this is false positive alert. It will be fixed in next VPS update (110603-1) distributed in few hours.

Ive had the exact same problem this morning - really glad to hear that it’s going to be dealt with in next update. ;D ;D ;D
I still it was telling me it was infected after restores from backups taken this am, one taken 10 weeks ago and even from the original disk.

I absolutely love Avast
