Hi guys, this is my first post here.
I’ve been running for a week the trial version of Avast IS (without Avast firewall, it couldn’t be installed). Now, every time I try to use the www.avax.com search feature, Avast pops a warning, for instance"URL:mal blocked.Object:http://avaxsearch.com/images/autor.gif .Processus: C:\Program Files\AVAST software\Avast Svc.exe"
This is what I’ve tried so far: -run Avast full scan -run Malwarebytes full scan -flushed temp files with TFC -run Microsoft Safety Scanner, and they find nothing infected.Could this be a false positive ? Thank you for any help you can give me.

what AV did you have before installing avast ?
have you removed it ?
did you run a removal tool to remove any leftovers ?
The URL:mal is bc you are trying to connect to a website avast does not like…so it is not something in your computer
however checking that URL…Sucuri / URLVoid / UnmaskParasites / VT…all say clean, so it may be a False Positive
Before installing Avast Internet Security, I had Avast free version, and I did remove it beforehand, but I didn’t run any removal tool.
Thank you for checking the URL, and I’m happy that is clean.
It’s funny, but if I run the browser (Opera) in Avast Sandbox, Avast doesn’t give me any warning on the URL in question.
have you tried avast repair ?
For a repair of avast. Windows, Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button from the pop-up window, scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
