URL: Mal message

Whenever I start Firefox, I get the following message from Avast!

Infection Details
URL: hxxp://partsreplac5.com/j.php?u
Process: C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\f…
Infection: URL:Mal

However, I’ve run Spybot (clean), Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (clean), and Avast! itself. Nothing shows up on my system, but nearly every time I open Firefox, I get this message. It’s been going on for several days, perhaps a week. I didn’t keep track at first, thinking I had just inadvertently picked up something odd, but it won’t go away even after running full scans and making sure everything is updated.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Please ‘modify’ your post change the URL from http to hXXp or www to wXw, to break the link and avoid accidental exposure to suspect sites, thanks.

DavidR, modified! Sorry about that. Didn’t realize it would show up as a link here.

I’m still working on running all those scans. Even after updating avast! and running it through the boot process, the message still shows up. I will attach the files as soon as everything finishes. It’s slow, because I still have the use the computer for business, so I have to run scans when it’s not being used.

Thanks!

No problem on the URL, now you know.

Until the logs are attached then a malware removal specialist can do an analysis and come up with a specific fix. Until that happens the underlying hidden/undetected infection will be trying to get out and avast will continue to block it.
