today I got several warnings from my Avast Mac Security about a virus called “URL:Mal” on some websites. A complete scan on my Mac also traced some files that contain the virus, which I isolated to the virus container. Now I would like to know, if this virus is dangerous to Mac at all. Or does it only affect MS Windows systems?

detection “URL:Mal” means that Avast webshield blocked some URL. In a shown alert you should see the blocked URL and process which tried to touch the URL. Without this info we can’t say anything.
