My PC was idling when Avast Web Shield went off saying they blocked a connection “c.pki.goog”. I didn’t have any browsers open at the time. It happened last week, but I couldn’t post this until now because of the site update.I can’t seem to post a screenshot of the alert.
I came to the forums to check out this problem too.
For me it seems to be crypto related. I get these popups every now and then on firefox. No idea from where they come.
Didn’t get a screenshot of the web shield popup, but i have the ID: 49263f34c6f8/2024-12-10T20:53:29.744Z
Hello Foxxyownz, welcome to the community.
There could be several causes, most usual are:
- Website you keep open in Firefox dynamically load some miner script that triggers Avast alert
- Extensions in your Firefox went evil and trying to mine something
- Just a false positive
Screenshots would be useful as we can see URLs and detection names.
