Jesus Christ!
Has this been fixed in 4.8.1356?

Did you not read them as that is what is said vulnerability in version 4.8.1351 and possibly earlier versions before 4.8.1356.
So 4.8.1356 isn’t vulnerable.
You could also have read the http://www.avast.com/eng/avast-4-home_pro-revision-history.html and see the vulnerability was fixed in 4.8.1356 (see image), before hitting the panic button.

Thanks ;), I see that they are aware of this. Will we be able to update the program to v.1356 on the home edition?

cubie , yes.
Right click the tray icon, select “updating”, then “program update”. Allow a few minutes and (IIRC ) a restart.

You should have got an automatic notification (pop-up) that a program update was available (within a 7 day cycle of release), unless you either missed it or modified the default update settings.
