No, but the Standard Shield at high sensitivity level will scan all opened files in the usb key before it could damage the computer.
To scan the USB drive, you must right click it on Windows Explorer and choose the scan option.
Oh… you can make a personal autorun.ini file for it… so, this stick, with this autorun.ini file will be scanned each time you connect it.
sometimes viruses create their own .ini file on usb-key…
When I open an infected key whit an hidden .ini file, the virus infect my pc and avast don’t do anything.
I use a lot of usb-key of other people → the only method is to scan the key before I open it?
thanks
You should surely be able to disable the Autorun feature on Windows this should stop the autorun.inf from running and infecting your system.
You should also check ‘Show Hidden Files and Folders’ and uncheck Do not show hidden or system files’ in Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, View and scroll down to the Hidden Files and Folders section.
Why do you use a lot of other peoples USB-keys ?
If it is for file transfer, surely there is a better way, on-line file share sites, that way a) the file/s can be pre-scanned or as you download them the web shield should scan them. Only the file/s you want are being downloaded and not run in any way like what may happen from a usb-key.
No. Just set the Standard Shield sensibility to high and IF avast has the proper signatures for that infection, you’ll be protected.
