USB Stick Protection

Which (open source/free) software you recommend to give additional protection to USB sticks?

Thanks in advance for your advice/suggestions!

Best regards, Herman

You can do a search for ‘USB Protection’ using the forum search function and view a number of previous posts regarding your inquiry.

Avast File System Shield scans usb flash drives when opened.

Some users use panda usb vaccine (free) and usb disk security (shareware).

MCShield. http://amf.mycity.rs/mcshield/

and you find losts of info about it in this topic

Thanks guys for the replies.

Having read the MCShield topic I’m left with only one (three?) question(s):
Do we really need additional USB protection software, which one you recommend,
why does Avast not have such software aboard?

Your thougts are welcome, thanks.

Kind regards, Herman

Panda USB Vaccination is still beta and has not been updated in a year. Bitdefender’s USB Vaccination is current and up to date. Works great. I have it on all 4 of my sticks. USB vaccination has nothing to do with your antivirus. It puts a “no autorun” file onto your stick making it vaccinated against malware attacks when inserted into an infected pc. Autorun should be disabled also on your pc to prevent any malware from running off a stick which has not been immunized.
