Whilst Windows XP tablet pc edition isn’t on the system requirements, OSes listed http://www.avast.com/eng/system-requirements-avast-home.html neither is Windows Media Center Edition as this OK.
Since your OS is also XP based perhaps it will work the same as the Media Center Edition, though this isn’t guaranteed, I’m just an avast user.
Perhaps a forum search for Windows XP tablet pc and see if this has been covered before.
Should work fine on both Tablet and Media Center Edition flavours of Windows XP.
