Hi, I am trying to excluded avast from scanning files in a specific folder on the PC but despite adding the folder to File System Shield > Expert Settings > Exclusions and pressing “Add” and “OK”, the system seems to “forget” this quickly. Have also tried excluding it from the general settings (Settings > Exclusions) but get a similar result. Can anyone help?
Which is your avast version?
Can you paste here the full path you’re trying to exclude?
Avast Version: 111114-0
The path is just a folder on the C: drive so nothing special.
I’ve actually solved my own problem now - I noticed that avast was actually resetting any changes I made in the settings (including turning things off etc.) which made me think it was being overwritten by some network-defined settings. This turned out to be the case as I went to the admin console and moved the PC to a unique group. Then under the group settings. As I wanted to stop the File System Shield from scanning this folder when files are read and written to it, under Expert Settings I was able to add on the end of “avastcfg://FileSystemShield/FileSystem/ScanExceptions” “;C:\example\examplefolder*” and that seem to do the trick.
Thanks anyway though
No, this is the virus database version. Is your avast 6.0.1289?
But now I realize you’re using the business version as this forum is for it…
Sorry. My fault.
Glad you’ve solved it.
