I’ve never had any trouble checking tracking on a parcel at the USPS website before.
Today 8/1/2023 when I go to https://www.usps.com/ everything looks fine until I enter a tracking number and click on search.
Then I get a pop up warning from Avast saying:
Threat secured
We’ve safely aborted connection on tools.usps.com because it was infected
with URL:Phlshlng
I’m using Avast Free Antivirus for Windows.
Is anyone else having this problem?
You can try using the - Reporting a Possible False Positive File or Website - https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form.php.
You should get a response in a day or two.
Thanks David, I did report it and I got a reply back from Avast saying:
The reported URL was checked by Avast virus specialists and based on the findings the detection was removed. The website is now marked as clean in the Avast virus database. This change may take up to 1 hour to take full effect. Please accept my apology for the inconvenience caused.
I tried it and it is now working properly.
I was impressed in how fast that they fixed they problem; it was only a couple of hours after I notified them.
You’re welcome.
Ordinarily it may take longer, but I think because of the domain usps.com and the volume of traffic it was dealt with quickly.
