Download the latest version of avast 4.8 http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download#tab4 scroll down to the “avast! 4.8 Home Edition (old product)” section and the language version that you require.

Strange they are normally there for the duration, another source of lod versions (not necessarily avast) is oldversions.com I believe.
