Secure DNS:
Ever since this feature was introduced I had to uninstall and not use it anymore because it was blocking some of my favorite sites which I regularly use.
Now I decided to install it again with the current version of Avast.
Fact is it is still blocking " http://www.easeus.com/ " (very comonly used Backup programs +++).
This site is absolutely not accessible without turning off “Secure DNS”.
1, when generate strong password make option to setting up password long, which characters use, etc. because not every website allow more than 8 or 12 long password, special characters or numbers.
2, in password history enable copy old passwords
3, when save data this website allowed and I login with same account name than saved, but I misspelled the password or give now password the site will not login me because the wrong password avast password save (refresh) my misspelled password without any notifications
4, on passwords overview show 30 weak passwords, but when click on it just list 7 weak password (I think 30 are weak and average)
5, in password history show hour and minutes too, not just the date
6, archive deleted website which contains username and password avoid accidental deletes
7, maybe bug: when save data this website allowed and login successful to the site, password history saved it again and make a new line
8, bug: (see pic.) when open a new site some sec. password plugin show error: “An error occurred! Please reinstall the extension.”
9, freeze when logout password manager, and go to settings-passwords tab. I made a dump: (20151016_1430_TUJGX_2625295853.zip File id: TUJGX)
10, check that main password enough strong, and lock some minutes when main password wrong and try too many times avoid brute force attack
Personally I find on-line installers (not specifically for beta builds):
much slower than downloading the full off-line installer on fast broadband.
my major concern with on-line installers specifically is for installing a new AV, you are in effect on-line with no protection - if you do as is commonly recommended - as you have uninstalled your previous AV or you don’t have one.
if you haven’t gone for removal of your previous AV - now you are potentially in the conflict scenario - which could lead to a failed or corrupt installation.
Since you have the same freeze / lock up problem as me (btw not fixed for me in 2236), does your avast service also terminate every time you launch SafeZone Browser or try to turn on Pay mode?
That same problem also holds true when you remove Avast and it takes to the internet for a survey ???
No protection so I’ll throw you out to the wolves! Not a Good Idea.
The online survey should happen before the removal not after.
As far as I saw, AvastSvc.exe is running fine while launching SafeZone Browser.
I don’t know about Pay Mode, because I can’t see task-manager while Pay Mode is On.
My lockup often happens just after resuming from stand-by, but not limited to that situation.
Tonight I’ll make my computer sleep as usual, let’s see what happens next morning… :
#. Extension is not signed for firefox 41.0.2
#. The passwords option freezes the whole avast window.
#. No option to Import passwords from other password managers.
#. Still need work to be done in the passwords section.
#. Network Scan. Shows Issues but no mention about what the issue is nor a fix.
