I’m a little upset that the most recent update for Avast also downloaded Googl Chrome without my knowledge. But then I removed it and suddenly all my email hyplerlinks do not work. I have the fix but am not happy Avast allowed Google to hi-jack my computer and then screw with my registry settings b/c I removed Google Chrome. >:(

I almost missed that one too and installed Chrome with Avast!, hah. Noticed just in time. Probably not obvious enough or so.
Anyway probably your default Web Browser is set to Chrome now even though it’s uninstalled. Check the Default Applications screen. (for Win7 Start > Default Application)
i did the same thing. :-[ went into the settings as you said and set internet explorer to default and still no joy. Do you think they stuck something in there which means you have to use chrome?
hey i uninstalled the avast prograam and reinstalled the program and left the chrome unticked so it didnt re instal and i still have the same problem. Explorer is set to default… Help please!
tried it bit the button is greyed out and cant be adjusted. it is selected as default already but…
