Vaio 5 update problems

Hi guys,

I know it’s a bit of an off topic, but I know some of you guys could probably help with this.

I am trying to install Vaio 5 update but I keep getting a message saying that the update could not be completed and it may be because of McAfee not being uninstalled properly. I have run MCPR.exe as instructed to by McAfee but I am still getting the same problems.

When I was trying to install Avast on my computer a few years ago I was having some problems. I uploaded my dump file for one of the guys on here and he told me what was wrong. Is it possible to do the same for this problem?

You can try running the McAfee removal tool in safe mode - tap F8 while booting to enter safe mode.

Another option if the first doesn’t work is to type McAfee in the run bar and do a search then manually delet any McAfee remnants that popup.

Also check in device manager, once there click on the view tab and then show hidden devices, from the drop down menu open ( Non - Plug And Play Drivers ) and check for McAfee and if any are found then right click and uninstall.
