I tried going to www.support.avast.com but, unlike other Avast pages, it won’t present trusted identification and Firefox thinks someone is tampering with my connection. Is this normal?
The computer I’ve been using (which uses Windows 7 and, I think, Avast Pro) won’t recognise it’s network connection at the moment. I have an old pc (Windows XP and Avast Free) and just got a Windows 8 pc. I want to get all 3 covered by a suitable version of Avast as the price for doing all 3 is competitive. Is there a page which compares Avast Pro, Internet Security and Premier? https://www.avast.com/index compares the Free, Internet Security and Premier versions but it doesn’t include Pro and right now I’m having trouble finding a page which lists what’s included in the Pro package.
How do I have to do the installation when purchasing for more than one computer at once? At the moment I only have one screen, so I can only have one pc running at a time. I don’t want to buy for three and then find I can only set it up on one.
Would there be any complications caused by already having Pro on my Windows 7 computer? I believe I paid the subscription in October but it works out more cost-effective to buy for three at the same time.
Thank you for any help you can give and sorry if I’m having a “senior” spell.
I don’t know if I would class this as normal as such - I think that it is because this Security Certificate is used for multiple avast.com sub domain names *.avast.com and not specifically for support.avast.com.
See attached image.
From firefox 34.0 and avast free 10.0.2208 on XP Pro system.
Avast Pro doesn’t have the avast Firewall, The avast Internet Security essentially has what is in avast Pro + the avast firewall.
It would be installed on 3 PCs at the same time and that is where the license requirement is looking at not that you only have one screen - if in the future you had more screens you could use them in combination.
There wouldn’t be a complication as such still using the existing avast Pro license on your win7 system. Just the fact that when purchasing the 3 pc license the license period starts from purchase. So there wouldn’t be any great benefit in using the old license or not - this you would have to factor in with the cost benefit of buying a 3PC license.
Thank you. The link to the comparison is very helpful.
The links to the FAQs would also be helpful if I’d not already spent a few hours last night and today searching them for answers to my questions. Presumably I didn’t find the right keywords, or was doing something wrong, but I did try.
Thank you, that’s exceedingly helpful! :-*
The identification worked fine for all other Avast pages that I tried, so maybe Firefox was right and my connection to the support page had been interfered with. Thanks to you I don’t need to go there now.
How do I give you rep, kudos or whatever it is on here?
I don’t think that it is a case of the connection being tampered/interfered with, just the fact that the certificate details doesn’t exactly match the domain path because of the * as I mentioned in my last post.
