Hi,

Received a worm via MSN. Ran avast, apparently it is something along the lines of VB-AXQ. I can only run in safe mode now, as normal mode results in a blue screen of death.

I’ll post the hijackthis log, but I’m not sure if it’s going to be much help when I’m in safe mode. Any help at all would be very, very appreciated.

From Safe Mode maybe you can:

  1. Disable System Restore and enable it again.
  2. Clean your temporary files.
  3. Schedule a boot time scanning with avast. Running: C:\Program Files\ALWIL Software\Avast4\sched.exe /A:*
  4. Boot and let avast run, sending files (infected) to Chest.
