Maybe that error is something Microsoft also has to patch, not sure on that, but I have seen it on the previous Avast stable release, not yet on the newest release
I got Red cross one evening with 17.7.2314 on this Windows 10 Pro Desktop, I just restarted that night and seemed to fix it, didn’t think of reporting it in here though, Do agree annoying and silly though in regards to the Red Cross, I haven’t seen it again as yet though
First was Green as no problems, then went to red, I stopped shields for 10 minutes, then went back to normal green in Windows Defenders security center.
It’s random when it happens with the red cross there, right now its showing normal, but who knows if its gonna happen again or not
I just ran an update for avast for version 17.8.2318 but after that avast cause my windows 10 Home version 1703 become very slow when open my thunderbid desktop mail client, PDF reader, Windows Explorer and even Windows.
I am using notebook Dell Inspiron 13-7359 with hardware specification: Intel Core i5-6200U CPU @2.30GHz, RAM 4GB and System type 64-bit operating system.
I can report for Smart Scan, missing compatibility issues, missing sensitive data, so one more than Asyn has.
Also still missing an avast browser. I tried to run an older version of AIS only to have SafeZone browser automatically removed upon updating the virus definitions. So no Bank Mode is available, still. New avast browser is on the way, but deployment of the new avast browser should’ve been coordinated with retirement of SafeZone, and not the gap in protection we’ve seen over the past month and a half or more should not have happened.
On my Win 7 64bit is all ok, but i didn’t notice any major changes from previous version. It’s probably only bug fixing release. And please, we need options for scanning files inside virus chest.
I am using Windows 10 (in the Netherlands), with Free AntiVirus
I updated yesterday evening.
After restart I used the icon in the taskbar. It was impossible to use any of the items in it.
I used the program icon on the destop.
The user interface window showed up, but I wasn’t able to do a quick scan.
No reaction on clicking. I couldn’t close the windows.
I used TaskManagement to close it.
Because I was not sure wether my system was protected or not I de-installed Avast Antivirus.
And I did a complete new installation, with the same effects mentioned above.
So I removed Avast Antivirus again. And I trust for the time being Windows Defender.
I appreciate any help, any advice.
