Version 19.x

On January 4 was introduced version 19.x for Free/Pro users. Any time schedule for Business users?

Generally the business release lags behind a bit. Also 19.x drops support for older Windows OS like XP so they could be delaying the rollout for this reason (Such as to modify the agent to keep those devices on old version)

AVAST Software has planned to deploy Avast Business 19.3 this month, but we have to wait for a specific date.

Thanks, good to know.

Cool, I can’t wait. 64-bit version will be very useful on servers. :+1:

Comming…

[AV-16747] We now offer a 64-bit version of our Avast Business Antivirus client. Some benefits to this include:

  • Faster boot time.
  • Reduced size of VPS files.
  • Reduced installer file size.
  • Faster scanning of mapped files.
  • Support ARM64 build in the future.

19.3 is now alive. :sunglasses:

And seeing it now being pushed out to clients ;D

I see problems with Windows 7 computers. Update is completed, but UI service is not functional and computer asks endlessly for restart. I used avastclear.exe to uninstall Avast and then reinstalled it. After that everything was OK. Windows 10 was upgraded without any problem.

Hi guys, FYI: https://kb.support.business.avast.com/GetPublicArticle?title=Windows-machines-running-Avast-for-Business-and-Cloud-Care-Freezing-on-Start-up

Hi,
I have several issues updating to this version (Avast Business Pro) from 18.11. On some machines (all in the same network and everything, all running Win7 x64) update works, but extremely slow. On some machines the update is not just slow, but it stops and says “host unreachable” or sometimes it says “dns resolving”. On a few other machines, while searching for updates from within Avast, it just says “Preparing 1/3…” and doesn’t do anything. Everything is on the same network, using the same dns and everything.
Also, when I go to Add*Remove Programs and try to repair or modify Avast, it just immediately says, repairing is done and reboot now. But it stays the same after reboots…
I think I’m gonna uninstall and reinstall if there’s no fix for these issues.
Avast is getting really bad recently :frowning:

See Reply #9.

does not apply. no problem logging in or anything. it’s just avast doesn’t work or doesn’t update.
now i’m working on a win10 machine that was searching for the update this morning, now avast UI does not even start. (which I’ve seen on other computers as well.)

…or I just removed it with avastclear (because I can’t otherwise - it errors out…) and reinstall… then repeat on the other pc’s… >:(

@K.J. Do we have a support package id from you?

We have several issues updating to this version (Avast Business Pro) from 18.xx. On some pc’s, all in the same network, update works, but extremely slow.
On some other pc’s the update stops and says “host unreachable” or sometimes it says “dns resolving”.
On a few other pc’s, while searching for updates from within Avast, it just says “Preparing 1/3…” and doesn’t do anything.
Every pc is on the same network, using the same dns and the same configuration.
What is happening Avast???
We need a solution to this problem as we can not stay with a several days old virus definition update!

Well it looks like Avast has done something, today the updates started to work as normal again, and we haven’t change anything on our side.

I apologize for the issue you were having, I’m glad to hear that the 18.x to 19.3 update is working now. If you continue to experience issues, please submit a case at https://www.avast.com/business-support-contact
