I update manually. I have no choice.
Update <…\vps-9051600.vpu> failed.
The “Warning Log” line is:
5/17/2009 3:47:39 AM a 1444 Function setifaceUpdatePackages() has failed. Return code is 0x000004C7, dwRes is 000004C7.
I tried to repair, and this is the result minus certain information I’d rather not have public, but the OS is Windows XP Pro.

My question is whether I can just wait for a day or two until the next version is released and update with that without any problems. I don’t intend to do any Net surfing until a new update is in, if one of you pros think this will work.
Unfortunately I cannot set my updates to auto, by the way. It’s a long story. Must be done manually.
I might also add that uninstalling the Alwil programs files and doing a reinstall is a very serious difficulty on my system, so if I can skip this update it would be so much better.
So what do you think? Will the next update work fine if I just skip this one?
And thank you in advance for any assistance.
EDIT: I just realized something. Was this a virus database update that failed? Or a … well that size is rather big. I’m not sure what a new “program” is called, but the other update that installs something other than a simple virus database update. In other words, am I looking at a much bigger problem than I thought when I first posted this.
