I think it should be mentioned who can/can’t start a new thread here.
Anouncements, should be just that, an announcement. So should there be any need for discussion (reply).
[b]announcement[/b] a formal public statement; "the government made an announcement about changes in the drug war"
[b]announcement[/b] a public statement about something that is happening or going to happen; "the announcement appeared in the local newspaper"
I think that only the Avast Team/Moderators should be the only ones allowed to post here.
If any user can reply, then it will turn into disaster.
This area was started to post information that is not open to comment.
Topic should be locked out to new posts and replies!
DavidR, you’re completely right ( as always, my friend ). Announcement group should be just for announcing and certainly not for replying…
That’s not what I though… we shouldn’t reply in this group at all… no mater are we user, forum member, forum regular or even moderator…

No one except Alwil team. this is not regular group, this suppose to be announcement group where we can read about new builds or some major program changes. No one should post or reply in here. This group should be locked and available for posting only for Alwil team members. We should be just bystanders…
We will just flood this group and new users will not have any good from this. See this screenshot… That’s how they solved this issue in Pop Tray forum. Best example… Announcements group should be just for Alwil team members to post in. They have to announce some new builds in there, some program changes, some known issues etc. Take a good look at number of replies in that group (screenshot)… no replies at all. This group should be clean as clean as it can be…
Let’s stop this right now, and let Alwil team keep this group clean. We have other forum groups to post our thoughts…
This is my first and last post in this group… if we keep posting and replying, soon this will become exactly the same as all other parts of this forum…

I hope what connie just said is what will happen soon, the reply doesn’t matter.
An announcement is to declare, broadcast, promulgate, herald, divulge, proclaim, introduce, enunciate, new information vital to all users.
From time to time, old and outdated announcements should also be removed so that it doesn’t become so overwhelming as to confuse our new members.
