Viceice virus solution needed!

Hi,

I got viceice virus (prbly malware) and nothing even cleaning reg is helping.

In FF this virus redirect me always with my toolbar fast searching ( I just type what I want to search in web adresses box) to “google custom search” page - “cse.google” (this actually appears to be a part of google company so avast is not seeing this).

It’s happening even after restarting firefox.

I attache my malware scans.

We also need the logs from Farbar > http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

Added in upper post

Let me know what problems remain after this

CAUTION : This fix is only valid for this specific machine, using it on another may break your computer

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

Save this as fixlist.txt, in the same location as FRST.exe

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/73555776/FRSTfix.JPG

Run FRST and press Fix
On completion a log will be generated please post that

THEN

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.

[*]Close all open programs and internet browsers.
[*]Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
[*]Click on Scan.
[*]After the scan is complete click on “Clean”
[*]Confirm each time with Ok.
[*]Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
[*]Please post the content of that logfile with your next answer.
[*]You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S0].txt as well.

Well I…aaa… I’m surprised now…

After putting fixlist.txt and frst64.exe in the same folder which was specially created to put there everything connected with deleting this virus and after running frst64.exe whole folder actually disappeared… taking all logs ( luckly already sent to you) with itself…

logfile (this one after running frst with fix appeared opened on the screen (until I closed it) but it was empty (I guess already deleted with whole folder).

This folder was: C:\Users\grendisk\Desktop\Usuwanie ViceIce

The problem still remains… :frowning:

EDIT: I actually managed to process “fix” from frst. I attache log file. And “The problem still remains… :(”

Did you run AdwCleaner as well ?

What browser does this appear in now

OK, I made scan but it detected nothing :frowning:

Problem still remains in Firefox.

OK could you backup your book marks in Firefox and then reset it https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings

Finally vicevice virus is gone

Probably your whole solution is working good. I just didn’t restart firefox.

After going through solution and restarting my Fireforx is working perfectly.

Thanks a lot lot lot more than u can imagine

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

: Keep Java Updated :

WARNING: Java is the #1 exploited program at this time. The Department of Homeland Security recommends that computer users disable Java
See this article

I would recommend that you completely uninstall Java unless you need it to run an important software.
In that instance I would recommend that you disable Java in your browsers until you need it for that software and then enable it. (See How to diasble Java in your web browser and How to unplug Java from the browser)

If you do need to keep Java then download JavaRa
Run the programme and select Remove Java Runtime. Uninstall all versions of Java present
Once done then run it again and select Update Java runtime > Download and install Latest version
