The video downloader isn’t working, as some others have reported. On YouTube, on video pages the icon is there but is grey, and it says there are no videos to download (although there obviously is). Can this be fixed please?

Thank you for reporting the issues you are experiencing using the Video Downloader extension. We are aware of the issues with Youtube for some users, and our development team is currently working on a solution that should be released with the next version.
It has started to work again for some videos, but videos with music in them still do not work.
What version ASB are you running?
Avast Team Member BWhit says in Reply# 1 that this issue will be fixed in the next version. Latest version is now 75.0.1447.81, old one you likely reported issue on was 74.0.1376.132. Version numbers do make a difference as security fixes and updates are bundled in only on newer versions.
Just ran a music video and got sound, was able to download via Video Downloader, and run the mp4 with sound and am running 74.0.1376.132.
It’s possible you’ve accumulated a bit of internet dross in your ASB browser over time.
Suggest doing a Ctrl+Shift+Del and ticking off what you think will clear your issue(s). Just be aware if you go too deep, you can lose your desktop shortcuts temporarily, so if you want to keep them, do a little cleaning at a time until your issue clears. You might be surprised at how much data is stored inside ASB if you’ve never done this before.
Anyway, your music block could be put down to copyright restrictions, and, depending on what these are, may not be much Avast could, or should, do about them.
Did that; didn’t work. I heavily doubt that it has anything to do with copyright because it didn’t have this issue before. Try these links yourself, it might just be me:

I have done some more testing and some videos work, and some don’t. The video downloader is a bit patchy. The ones that don’t work don’t seem to be because of copyright, because some copyright-free videos don’t work. I think I’ll need to wait longer for this to be fully fixed.
EDIT: I did some more testing and it is really, really odd. It seems that videos that have some sort of music in them (full songs, not just bits of songs) don’t work, regardless of copyright, but some videos that don’t have any music in them may work or may not work. This is a really strange glitch. Hopefully it gets working again like it did before, because one of the few reasons I use ASB is to download music for listening to without adverts. Without it, ASB is just wasted space on my hard drive.
This glitch still hasn’t been fixed, which is very annoying. To download music I’ll need to use the usual Virus International to download a very bad MP3 file that also downloads seven viruses and deletes System32. If this isn’t fixed, I’m afraid this will be a complete uninstall for me. What’s the point of getting rid of the best feature in the browser? I mean, the only reason people get the browser, when Google Chrome is supported much more and probably just as safe. Come on guys.

The videos the user linked to don’t download in the newest video either.
This looks like a copyright restriction since other videos work without problems even when they contain music.

I am having the same problem and I have did some checking and this is not a copyright problem. The latest beta: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=228393.0 did not fix the problem .The problem is that Youtube has all music videos and videos with music filed under the new youtube music channel hope this information will help avast fix the problem.

A couple of days ago, it actually worked! I was able to download some music by David Bowie… But today it broke again.
My downloader has also disappeared, I have tried to repair and reload the program to no avail. I am running the premier version.
