Disable System Restore and reenable it after step 3.
Clean your temporary files.
Schedule a boot time scanning with avast with archive scanning turned on.
Run a full scan of avast at your USB drive.
Use AVG Antispyware; SUPERantispyware and/or Spyware Terminator to scan for spywares and trojans. If any infection is detected, better and safer is send the file to Quarantine than to simple delete than. Of course, scan the USB too.
If there is autorun features of the USB, disable them or delete the autorun.inf file in the USB.
You didn’t give the location of this file, but I suspect that it is in the System Information Folder and is in a _restore point ?
Check the avast! Log Viewer (right click the avast ‘a’ icon), Warning section, this contains information on all avast detections (location, malware name, file name, etc.).
If you have done step 1. disable system restore and rebooted that will clear ALL restore points so your problem should be gone. Do another avast scan to confirm.
