I just did a scan of my computer and avast found w32: adan-053 in the file brix6ie.ocx
It was recommended that I move the infected file to the virus chest.
How long should I keep it in the chest before deleting it or is it safe to leave it there in perpetuity.
I searched a bunch of places for info about removing it, etc but have yet been unable to find a definitive answer.
I figured the wonderful, knowledgeable people on this forum could help me.
Please advise.

Keep the files in the Chest for the time you need to test all the programs in your pc are running without any problem: maybe 2-3 weeks. If you see all is normal, you can delete the malware. The Chest is a secure place for nasty files. You can also decide to keep its until the end of the world! ;D
But sometimes, people will get paranoid cause they believe the file in the virus chest will take up space. Just keep the infected file in the chest for 2-3 weeks like what Kamulko! said. If your not sure, you can always use the forum to ask questions.
