Virus definitions are outdated

My icon has a red circle with a white x in it. When I click on it, it states that my virus definitions are outdated. So I click on update antivirus, and I always get “Something went wrong, and the update failed. Please try again”. I have tried many times. I have done a scan, and updated other things and restarted many times, and this won’t go away. What should I do, or should I just leave it and forget about it?

First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.

Have you tried an Avast Repair ?

  • AvastUI > Menu > Settings > General > Troubleshooting > Repair APP - Restart after completion.

I am having the same issue. I have tried over the the last several days and even ran the Avast Repair. After that completed I shut down my system and rebooted. It did not help.

Has someone discovered a solution to this issue. My computer is older and I am running Windows 10 on it.

Thanks!
