Virus definitions out of date notifications, but computer shows definitions up to date

I’ve been getting a virus definition out-of-date warning email for one of my managed computers for at least a month now. I’ve tried using the update function within Hub, I’ve gone to the computer to do the definition update, but the computer shows it’s up-to-date. Now, I’m getting the definition out-of-date notification for a second computer. Logging into Avast on that computer shows the definitions are also up-to-date. Why is this happening and how can I stop it?

This is happening with our organization on any machine that was “upgraded” to v 24.10.2822. All other installs with other versions are working correctly. They need to push out an update ASAP and fix the quality control of the releases. Especially for a business product.

Same here, it’s happening on servers too with this version (24.10), so this was something we searched after for hours … no idea it was a bug.

Is the Avast agent updated to 24.5.2337 on the afected devices?

Portal doesn’t seem to update older versions, though a new install does get the latest version.
How do you update a PC from the portal now?

It looks like it is broken. I contacted support last week and they said it should work or start to automatically update soon, but it has not. But it does sound like they are aware of it. Hoping it gets solved sooner than later. The older versions are still showing that they are current. And the issue appears to be the agent version, not the AV version.

I’m finding the Cloudcare portal is less reliable at reporting, so now don’t know if devices are updating or scanning as they should. I have a case open but they don’t seem as good at diagnosing the logs as in the past.

I fear they are reducing the resources they are investing in Cloudcare. Not a good sign for the future. We may be seeing the passing of a great product. I hope not. Maybe they are just reshuffling and new staff is getting trained.
