Virus Detection for OSX Threats

Hello,

I have noticed that today’s updates contained the detection of several OSX threats:
OSX:Inqtana-B [Wrm], OSX:Inqtana-C [Wrm], OSX:Inqtana-D [Wrm], OSX:Launch-exploit, OSX:Leap [Wrm], OSX:Leap-B [Wrm], OSX:Nigtana [Wrm], OSX:Safari-exploit, OSX:Weapox-rootkit,OSX:Weapox-rootkit-B

Can we assume that Alwil has added those because it planed to release Avast for Mac very soon ??

Thanks

Al968

Yes, I believe the assumption is correct

Is there a beta already ?
Are there any dates ?

Thanks

Actually the BETA is already available (and from a long time now) - http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=25073.0

Credit Card is ready for Purchase  Ive seen the beta and its way better than NAV, Virex and virus barrier. Very light on resource usage and very decent scanning performance (a little slower on PowerPC but acceptable, runs great on Intel)

Can we also assume rootkit detection for platforms other than Mac is in the offing?

Since Avast for mac uses the same engine I would assume so
