I am running Avast free edition on my home computer and concerned about these virus and trojans from Sun Java that came up on my last scan. Below is a link to an image of the chest:

Are these only found when you scan or when infected, shouldn’t you get an alert?
They aren’t ‘from’ Sun Java, but are in the JAVA cache, this is commonly down to having an old version of JAVA which is vulnerable and being exploited.
Clear your JAVA cache:
Control Panel, JAVA, Temporary Internet Files, Settings, Delete Files.
Ensure that you have the latest version of JAVA:
You can also initiate a JAVA update from the above JAVA control panel option.
