Avast cannot delete a file (.pif) located within backup.pst - The message says:
The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
How can I delete that file which Avast says it is infected?
run a boottime scan with Avast.
(start Avast > Menu > Shedule boot scan)
see if that solves it.
or
Disable the process that is using that file first in taskmanager.
Than run a scan and let Avast handle it.
I ran a bootscan and it’s okay. The only infected files are in the Outlook pst folder. I’ll try to find out which process is the culprit.

Just boot into safe mode and solve it from there.
