VIRUS INFECTION!!!TROJAN EVERY FEW MINUTES!!!

Virus was found and keeps coming from this file “C:\DOCUME~1\COMPUT~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\ac8zt2\msmdev.dll”
Trojan horses keep coming every couple minutes!!! I delete file but still keeps coming by the time I’m finished with my computer in 30 minutes i have about 15-20 Trojan horses in my virus chest!!! HELP PLEASE!!!

There is obviously another element (undetected or hidden) that is either restoring or downloading this again. What is your firewall ?

If you haven’t already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it, preferably in safe mode.

  1. If using winXP AVG anti-spyware (formerly Ewido) Resident scanner during trial On-Demand after trial ends. Or SUPERantispyware On-Demand only in free version. Or Spyware Terminator Resident scanner. Or a-Squared free On-Demand only with free version(if using win98/ME).

I don’t know how to find this out and what exactly you mean but I can check if you can quickly tell me what to look at.

just send the file to www.virustotal.com online scanner and post the results here… :wink:

Hi ohnovirus!,

You have some vundo infection. Download: RemoveVideoActiveXObject.exe from here:
http://home.hetnet.nl/~stefsmeenk/RemoveVideoActiveXObject.exe
Save this file onto your desktop, then you can doubleclick it.

You will see a small window pop up, and quickly some lines will run , then the window will close by itself, this is normal behavior.
Then it is possible for an uninstaller of some roque scanner to start up, do not close this but follow all prompts there, and let it run its course.

Restart your PC, and doubleclick again RemoveVideoActiveXObject.exe. In safe mode.
Also look for a file in C:\RVAXO-results.log
Doubleclick this file, a little log will open, and post this together with a hijackthislog in a new posting (postings),

Check the avast! Log Viewer (right click the avast ‘a’ icon), Warning section, this contains information on all avast detections.

I think polonus meant to post the contents here in this topic so that all information about your problem is kept in the same topic, this makes it easier for those trying to help as they don’t have to switch between topics for information.

Have you tried the other programs I suggested ?

Can you answer the questions asked in the topic, firewall, malware name, etc.
