Virus MBR:\physicaldrive0 Rootkit hidden boot sector and maybe more

I’ve tried getting rid of this. Normal scan, boot scan, did scan in Safe mode and it won’t go away. I think there are 2 more infected files that won’t go way now…so I’ve made it worse.

The MBR one won’t go to the chest. I’ve attached image of what I see after scan

welcome to the forum.

i suggest you do a scan with malwarebytes antimalware.

http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/

download, install, update and do a scan, and don’t forget to remove what it finds.

what version of avast you using?

and what os you using?

also download OTL and do a scan. and post the result here

http://oldtimer.geekstogo.com/OTL.exe

Download OTL to your desktop.
Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed to let it run uninterrupted.
When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output.
Under the Standard Registry box change it to All.
Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check.
Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post it with your next reply.

good luck.

Hi,

Actually I wish I wasn’t on this forum…but oh well. lol

I scanned with malwarebytes already. It found something a couple of days ago and was removed. I scanned again with malwarebytes last night, and there was nothing found.

I just upgraded avast and started having issues about that time…or maybe it was because I downloaded the google beta music. I also noticed that something seems to be going on when I open firefox. Pages are loading and the firefox page is popping up warning me about passwords.

I have xp.

Please download and run aswMBR from here http://public.avast.com/~gmerek/aswMBR.htm
Download
Run
Scan
Post the log
