Avast Home edition found this “virus” but when I go to the location to see what it is or what it’s connected to, I can’t find the .dll or a folder! How can Avast find something that’s not there??
C:\Windows\System32\msqpdxwncfvivi.dll Is the location, and it happens whenever I start something up, i.e. the explorer, Norton PC Check, etc it’s frustrating and I click Delete everytime and it keeps returning! Please help?
Ensure that you have hidden files and folders enabled and disable hide system files in Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, Hidden files and folders, uncheck Hide extensions for known file types, etc. see image.
However if it keeps coming back there are other elements to the infection, restoreing/downloading it again, what is your firewall ?
If you haven’t already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it, preferably in safe mode and report the findings (it should product a log file).
MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, On-Demand only in free version http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/malwarebytes/mbam-setup.exe, right click on the link and select Save As or Save File (As depending on your browser), save it to a location where you can find it easily later.
