I just scanned my computer and was told that I have a virus. The problem is that it is supposedly in D:$recycle.bin\ and when I try to delete the file through Avast, it says that the system cannot find the file specified. Firstly, I don’t know what that folder is. I manually navigated there and it is empty, but I don’t see it in the parent folder (I have the hidden folders option turned on). And it’s not the recycle bin because the contents are different. Secondly, what does it mean that Avast has reported a virus there?
Thanks for the help,
bugg
welcome to the forum. have you tried to move the infected file to the virus chest? the file avast is detects could be a file that is been acting like a malware. you could try a boo tscan also with avast and see if you can delete it from there, but you should first try to move the infection to the chest before deleteing it if the file is showing as a false threat. you could also scan your computer with malwarebytes antimalware or superantispyware to see if you have more infections on your computer.
