Hi,
I think that avast is not strong enough though i have a pdf.gen malware gen on another computer of mine it let it through and destroyed all restore points and windows update avast detected in the sheilds % Scans.
The only way is to disable scripting in Adobe acrobat reader and deny internet access to adobe in adobe advanced settings will cure this exploit.
Had to scrub the computer with several malware scanners and reset windows update on xp by typing run command as follows (%SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\REGSVR32.EXE %SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\WUAUENG.DLL)
will reset windows update and will cure windows xp security centre problems
Hello,
send us (virus@avast.com) the file to analyze, please.

Hi,
Was pdf-gen./malware.gen in chest and genuine viruses. Scanned with malware bytes found the same viruses in the registry & system restore and found out it altered IE8 settings to no protection!. Googled about this (virut variant) managed all day to clear this up XP SP3 fully patched and avast v6 latest version on that computer. Did this long run command to fix windows update and security centre within xp. Now stable and clean.
Annoying these pdf trojans though! you could be hit on any web page. Recently had system tool 2011 on another computer, same type of variant.
