When installing Davince Resolve 17 I get two virus warnings from Avast (translated from the Dutch warning):
1: DPDecoder.exe is blocked because the file is infected with IDP.Generic.
2: DaVinciPanelDeamon.exe is blocked because the file is infected with IDP.Generic.
Avast put these files into quarantine.
Should I act further on this warning?
Should other people be warned of this threat?

Dit soort detecties blijken in heel veel gevallen FP’s te zijn.
Malcreanten maken namelijk graag gebruik van bekende files om hun malware in te verstoppen en onder de opsporingsradar te krijgen.
Rapporteer dit als een FP aan avast team.
Send File Via Client
Open the local Avast antivirus client that detected the file.
Click on Protection in the left panel.
Click on Virus Chest in the slide-out menu.
Check the box next to the file you want to send.
Next to the Delete button, click the down arrow.
Click Send for analysis in the drop-up menu.
Vaak blijkt dat na een update van avast detectie basis, het niet meer te worden gedetecteerd als IDP.Generic.
Maar na zo’n alert blijkt de oorspronkelijke download niet meer te werken.
Download dus steeds van betrouwbare bron en bij voorkeur gesigneerde software.
