am not able to log on to certain sites on the web…it just wont let me…avast.com is one of them…now it will not let me downlod using bitcomet…the programe opens but no download happens…hav uninstalled…re installed…everything…have bought Spyware Nuker XT…it found a lot of stuff but will still not let me open the web pages i want…my Avast Anti Virus Software is a demo version downloaded from this site but am not able to log on to the main site to buy the key…and it will expire soon…what do i do…oh by the way even tried Ewido anti spyware And SPYKILL Anti spyware 2006…upgraded all software but nothing…

God knows what it is…virus/worm/spyware…??? ??? ??? :‘( :’( :cry:

The FIRST thing you need to tell us is the NAME of your
Operating System; everything flows from that info . Based
on your post in the other Avast forum, we are NOT sure of
WHAT version SPECIFICALLY of Avast you have
downloaded; give that info .
Regarding credible antiSPYWARE products : ALWAYS view
the info at : www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm , including its recommendations of “Trustworthy
Anti-Spyware Products”. Spyware Nuker is “so-so” and
“Spy-Kill” is listed as a “rogue”.
And we are not fond of “P2P” programs, such as Bit Comet.

Get rid of Spyware Nuker and Spykill because they are unproven and/or rogue spyware applications as Spiritsongs said.

Download install and update the excellent and free Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy:

Update Ewido.

Download F-Secure BlackLight:

Download a good free firewall like Zone Alarm if you haven’t got one already.

Disconnect your internet connection.

The key for the free version of avast! only requires registration. In the meantime, run a boot time scan with avast! (Schedule boot time scan.)

Run a scan with BlackLight.

Restart you computer in safe mode and run scans with Ewido, Spybot and Ad-Aware.

Repeat the scans until nothing new is detected.

Install your firewall, reconnect to the internet and only allow trusted programs to connect out.

Report any symptoms, detections etc you still have.
