This message appears when I start my computer: “Attention! Your PC is in danger. Your system requires AV check! Av Center will perform a quick and free scan of your PC.” Also, a Facebook login page appears automatically. It is does not have the expected browser format at the top.
I have not closed the windows, because I don’t want to make the situation worse, so I just work around them. My son also told me that inappropriate, unwanted garbage also popped up on the screen this evening.
I am so tired of things like this happening every several months. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this problem?
this might be a rogue AV. Is there a fake scanner popup as well? If there is what is the name?
you can try this, click on the free version, make sure you update before running the scan. if anything is found click on remove selected, and post the log here.
@ the OP: so you’ve had it before >>> how did you solve it last time? reinstall Windows?
This being said, it keeps happening because yourself or someone else having access to your computer is browsing bad sites and is clicking on bad links, which should be avoided in the first place. What you describe is called a rogue anti-virus. You must have downloaded it first before it could pop up such messages. It acts like a trojan, hijacking your system and attempting to get you buy “protection” against malware that it installed itself.
