Can someone assist me, I was downloading a zip file from Limewire and out of the blue avast pops up stating there is a virus and suggested I place it in the chest which I did. It’s now sitting there, I didn’t open the zip file but I need to know what my next step is to rid this from my computer. I did run a complete scan and nothing comes up but when scanning the file in the chest I get a virus warning. Any help is appreciated.

File is safe in Chest. Of course, if it is infected, avast will shown that to you.
You don’t have to do nothing, you do the right thing sending the file to Chest.
It cannot get out of there and cannot harm your computer.
Are you using Windows XP?
Can you schedule a boot-time scanning?
Start avast! > Right click the skin > Schedule a boot-time scanning.
Select for scanning archives.
Boot.
