using a restorepoint may damage avast install unless you turn off avast self protection first

try avast repair?

controlpanel > ad/remove programs > avast > uninstall/change > next popup box has a repair option

any change?

Hi
Have done this and spent 30 mins on phone to Avast, cannot install the uninstaller or run the uninstall from the program or windows. When you click on the licence name is there but no other details Avast say it a corrupt licence file but want £129 to get a tech to fix for me!
Thats why wondered if there is another way to manually delete?

No, avast does not want you to pay.
Support for avast is free.

Boot in safe mode and try to run this tool : https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility

That is a 3rd party support company that handle avast support - in all honesty I wouldn’t use them I would use the forums.

They are trying it on if they feel it is a corrupt license file, I feel that should fall within the the terms/limits of the free support and not have to pay further.

I don’t know how they would repair a corrupt license file, without replacing that and they certainly can’t do that - unless they have you re-download it and that isn’t worth £129.

Resend avast License https://www.avast.com/resend-license-paid.php, you will need to enter the email that you used when purchasing the license, e.g. the one that the original email with the link was sent.
