VPN icon opening passwords

Had recently to reinstall windows ( W7 ) to my laptop. Had obviously to reinstall Avast Premier which seems to be the latest version , but since then if I click on the VPN icon in the tray passwords and not the VPN window opens. Any ideas anyone ?

See if this answer and resolves you problem: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=221557.msg1474502#msg1474502
Avast did say that this problem is known and they are working on a fix. Since eventually SecureLine will only be a stand-alone item why not change over now. I’ve been using the standalone version for some time.

Thanks for advice. As I am not very high tech could I clarify before I do anything, do I first remove Secure line VPN from Avast Premier and then download it as a stand alone and if I do that will my Premier Licence activate the stand alone ?
Apologies if I am being a bit dumb.

Don’t know how but the problem has suddenly resolved itself. Hope it stays that way now.

Avast fixed the problem via and update. This doesn’t change the fact that the internal VPN will be
replaced by the stand alone version. For now, you can simply continue using the internal build.
