Wanting to allow a particular "spyware"

Hi members,

There is a really cool site called “Popular Screen Saver” I know it’s spyware, but it’s pretty benin. Even though I tell Avast to allow it, I can’t get it to install the download program. Any suggestions? Please respond to my email address, as I’m not use to checking this forum. Thanks, Blaze

What type of spyware is it? Can you give us the name?

The only way you will get avast not to interfere with the install is to temporarily disable the standard shield, but I wouldn’t recommend this. Why compromise your by installing software with known spyware, what you think might be benign (define benign), how do you know? What is in the code of the spyware do you know? What is to say it wont change tomorrow (you hardly get a End User License Agreement)?

No, there must be other software/screen saver sites out there that does the same or similar job that doesn’t have spyware attached.

Can’t you find a safer site?

Blaze,
my friendly suggestion is: uninstall all the useless software running on your machine, like anitivirus, antispyware, firewall etcetera. So you can finally be infected as you want without any waste of precious memory resources… ih ih ih… ;D ;D ;D
